Practice with free blackjack and buy insurance!

For those players that love blackjack, whether it’s free blackjack or real money blackjack, be sure to know how to use insurance during your game. While this is not the same as buying insurance for your car, it has similar protection. In free blackjack, insurance is only available when the dealer has an up card of an Ace. Before the dealer checks his hole card (his face down card), a player can opt to put insurance on the dealer's hand. The player is then betting that the dealer has a natural in their hand or a two card 21 (an ace and a card with a value of 10). This can be a lucrative bet for the player as it pays off 2:1, if successful.

Quite often, when a dealer has an ace card in his hand, the hand will be successful. Insurance allows a player to have a chance at protecting himself. By betting the full half of your original bet, a player can re-earn the money they would likely have lost if the dealer had had blackjack. When playing casino blackjack, players should note that the insurance bet is put on a special portion of the table, which usually has the words "Insurance Pays 2:1".

Although blackjack can often be a game of luck, there are certain ways a player can improve their game and protect themselves. If fact, playing free blackjack is an excellent way to practice this technique. Play free blackjack today and improve your play!
